We should be in the air right now, flying through the night to arrive in Bolivia in the morning. Instead, we're holed up in a cushy little hotel room with air conditioning (oh thank you Lord for the air conditioning!) and getting a good night's sleep in a bed instead of a jet plane.
Oh, the suffering for Jesus we do.
Our road trip to Charlotte was fun, but due to weather we were delayed getting out on our flight. We landed in Miami at 10:50 pm, and the flight to La Paz was scheduled to leave at 10:35 pm. Surely with a group of 14, they would realize the importance of holding the flight just a few minutes, right?
But as we pulled onto the tarmac, the plane was driving away. (At least we were pretty sure it was our plane.) But not to fear; we got flights to Bolivia departing at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, arriving in Santa Cruz at 11 pm.
Oh, and we only have our carry-on items.
I have to give special kudos to every single team member - there was not one single complaint about anything that was happening today. They all just rolled with the change in plans and have had fantastic attitudes. Parents, you should be proud. If anything they're just disappointed they won't wake up and already be there.
Here are a few highlights in pictures from today:
BOLIVIA BOUND!
SUNSET FROM THE SKY
FLEXIBLE IN BODY, NOT JUST SPIRIT
(aka, 14 people squeezed in a humid, smokey-smelling hotel van)
TWO THUMBS DOWN IN GATE D-37
We'll update when we get to Santa Cruz. Keep up your prayers for us!
p.s. We all got to see a rainbow while sitting on the runway in Charlotte. A wonderful reminder God has gone before us and is with us.
p.p.s. We also got to see fireworks all from the sky in Charlotte and Miami, and that was pretty stinkin' cool.
Sorry for the delay but glad to hear everyone had a chipper attitude. That will come in handy when you get there-I am sure! I can't wait to hear more.
